Staying Secure
At Intuit, we know nothing is more important to you and your customers than the security of your processess and transactions. That’s why for more than a decade, Intuit has incorporated layers of defense to prevent, detect, correct and report security threats for our 1800+ financial institutions. Here are just a few of the reasons our clients trust us to protect them and give their users peace of mind.
System Safeguards
Intuit systems are secured with encryption, perimeter and internal firewalls, screening and filtering routers, intrusion detection, strict authentication, virus protection, and application security. Application security includes a double-blind process for issuing PINS, lockouts due to failed logons, and additional encryption of sensitive customer data during sessions. Intuit network architecture is structured so servers that store actual account information are not directly connected to the Internet.
Tight Operations
Intuit employs policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of security throughout our organization including retina eye scan authentication for access to our data centers, clear personnel policies and background checks, and a team of security specialists who provide 24/7 support. In addition, Ernst & Young performs an annual SAS 70 Type II audit (the more stringent of the SAS 70 audits) of Intuit's policies and procedures, and measures their effectiveness. This test includes physical facilities as well as Internet operations.
Smart Architecture & Disaster Recovery
Intuit utilizes fully redundant data centers. The company scales horizontally for host servers, application servers and database servers. All applications and subsystems are designed for high availability and servers have standby back up with automatic cutover and auto recovery.
The data center has its own physical security as well. As a sensitive area, it is protected with biometric eye scan entry, additional card key access, video surveillance, 7 X 24 staff coverage, and a 24-hour police response system. The data center is equipped with redundant electrical power sources and environmental monitoring systems with audible and visible alarms.
